House of the Dragon Season 2 to Begin Filming Sooner Than Expected

We already know that the wait for House of the Dragon Season 2 is going to be a long one but we could be getting updates on the series fairly soon. It has just been confirmed that the second season of the Game of Thrones spin-off show will begin filming very early this year.

The intel comes from the production list of The Film & Television Industry Alliance (via GamesRadar). The production list confirms that House of the Dragon Season 2 will begin filming in Spain and the UK on March 6. Although the cast members are not listed, it is revealed that Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor will helm the episode that will be filmed on the aforementioned date.

This is awesome news considering that Alan Taylor directed some of the best Game of Thrones episodes in the first and second seasons of the original series. We're happy to know that he is involved in House of the Dragon Season 2 and we can't wait to see what he was in store for us in the spin-off show.

But what can we expect in House of the Dragon Season 2? It has already been confirmed that one of the more brutal events from Fire and Blood will be adapted into the series. Although fans are dreading the idea of seeing Blood and Cheese in action, it's also set to be one of the most important parts of the story so it's something to look forward to in the show.

For now, House of the Dragon Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date but it is unlikely to air late in the year. Instead, fans will have to wait until 2024 to see the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

House of the Dragon Season 2 begins production on March 6, 2023.
