With the release of Stranger Things 2, the hype is still up for Netflix’s 2016 hit show. Screen Junkies has now released a new video poking fun at the first season and finds an odd comparison to Todd Phillips The Hangover:
When a middle-schooler goes missing, a Loser’s Club full of Goonies will band together to recreate the cutest version of The Hangover you’ve ever seen, where one character disappears, one character is missing teeth, one character is cool and skeptical, and one character is a dangerous liability to the rest of the group.
The video also funnily points out how Hopper has a knack for knocking out security guards whenever he needs to, and you’ll suddenly find yourself realizing that Grace Byers does a lot of the “Winona Face.” The video also pokes out how similar the series is to E.T., as well as several other Stephen King stories.
With the Duffer Brothers planning to make more seasons for Stranger Things, the Honest Trailer also points out that they should pump the series out fast before the child actors hit puberty. They may be cute and likeable now, but who knows when any one of the kid actors will pull a Miley Cyrus once they get older?
Let’s just hope it doesn’t come to that.
