Honest Trailer for Men in Black: International

Sony had attempted to make a reboot/spinoff with Men in Black: International, but the movie was so poorly received when it came out that hopes for a revival were probably scrapped. Just in, Screen Junkies had released their Honest Trailer take on the movie.

You’ve seen them visit outer space, secret prisons on the moon, even travel through time; now follow the Men in Black on their most exotic, out-of-this-world destination yet—Europe.

I have to say, the Honest Trailer is really spot on when it comes to their description of the movie. Though Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth worked great together in Thor: Ragnarok, that didn’t translate well with this film, and the movie can’t seem to figure out just how these two characters would bounce off of each other.

The Trailer also points out several things that went wrong behind the scenes, like director F. Gary Gray attempting to quit multiple times, and Hemsworth and Thompson both hiring their own dialogue writers to make each of them funnier.

If anything, the last great Men in Black movie was probably the first one, and you can see that the film tried to replicate that formula with International, but they just didn’t stick the landing. I guess they should have focused more on the sci-fi element rather than the comedy because I think that’s where the real fun of MIB is.

We don’t know what Sony plans to do with this franchise in the future, but my fingers are crossed they attempt the 21 Jumpstreet crossover that was scrapped.

Men in  Black: International is now available for home video.
