The upcoming season will be the last one for the series and is expected to adapt The Amber Spyglass. This was the plan right from the start according to executive producer Dan McCulloch.

"The moment we started season one of His Dark Materials, we had mapped out all three novels to know the direction in which where we were heading," McCulloch said in a statement. "Every detail and character within this incredible work of fiction has been analyzed and discussed for four years now, and to finally arrive in the many worlds of The Amber Spyglass is thrilling."

It's great to know that His Dark Materials Season 3 will adapt this particular Pullman novel. The book, which is the longest novel in the book series, follows Lord Asriel's war against The Authority. In addition to that, The Amber Spyglass would be a fitting way to conclude the show. Needless to say, we can't wait to see the third season.

His Dark Materials Season 3 will also bring back Ruth Wilson as Miss Coulter and James McAvoy as Lord Asriel. The final season is still in production and has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
