It has been a long time since we got any updates on His Dark Materials Season 2. Luckily, we now know when to expect to see the next chapter of Lyra Belacqua's story. A new poster announces the HBO show's release date and offers a better glimpse at a new character who will play a major role in the second season.
The official poster for His Dark Materials Season 2 was shared by HBO and it puts Lyra front and center along with Will Parry. Check it out below.
There is little doubt that the second season will focus on Lyra's journey along with Will, who she realizes shares her destiny. The poster also features the people who are also along for the ride including Lee Scoresby, Will's father John Parry, The Master, and Mrs. Coulter. Behind everyone are Serafina Pekkala and a new witch Ruta Skadi, who will help Serafina in the witches' fight against the Magisterium.
The synopsis for His Dark Materials reads as follows:
"Adapting Philip Pullman's award-winning trilogy of the same name, which is considered a modern masterpiece of imaginative fiction, the first season follows Lyra, a seemingly ordinary but brave young woman from another world. Her search for a kidnapped friend uncovers a sinister plot involving stolen children, and becomes a quest to understand a mysterious phenomenon called Dust. As she journeys through the worlds, including our own, Lyra meets Will, a determined and courageous boy. Together, they encounter extraordinary beings and dangerous secrets, with the fate of both the living — and the dead — in their hands."
His Dark Materials Season 2 will premiere on HBO on November 12.
