Highlight Lee Gi Kwang has been an all-rounder in different industries in South Korea.
Initially, Lee Gi Kwang took the stage as a soloist under the stage name AJ (Ace Junior). He released his first mini-album, First Episode: A New Hero, before debuting with BEAST in October 2009.
The group eventually changed its name to Highlight in February 2017 and has since lost two of its original members.
Outside the music industry, he also works as an actor who made appearances in High Kick Through the Roof, my Princess, Monster Circle, and Lovely Horribly. Lee Gi Kwang was also tapped to host several shows like Inkigayo.
Aside from these gigs, Lee Gi Kwang is about to enter a new door that has been recently opened for him.

Highlight Lee Gi Kwang to Transform Into a DJ
KBS, as quoted by Naver, announced that Lee Gi Kwang officially joined the lineup of DJs for KBS Cool FM. Ahead of his appearance, the K-pop idol had already made history after becoming the first male DJ in seven years.
“He is the first male DJ in seven years since Kim Sung Joo, so we are expecting him to bring out new charms and vitality during lunchtime,” the company said. Before him, Apink member Jung Eunji previously led the show.

Starting March 14, Lee Gi Kwang’s Music Plaza will air until 2:00 p.m. KST. Following the development, he expressed his gratitude and pledged to show a more commendable side of him while serving the show.
Per Lee Gi Kwang, he aims to give energy and fun to his fans and listeners during his show. He also said he would make people listen to his show as comfortably as possible.
Highlight Lee Gi Kwang Comes Back as an Idol
While preparing to start his stint as a DJ, Lee Gi Kwang also makes himself busy ahead of Highlight’s comeback.
The idol and other group members unveiled the first look of their first full album as Highlight. The trailer confirmed that the project would be released on March 21, 6:00 p.m. KST, 10 months after dropping their last and latest album.
They followed the trailer with an album preview and pre-order on Tuesday.
Highlight will upload their concept photosets – BEFORE THE DREAM, IN THE DREAM, and AFTER THE DREAM CONCEPT -- from Wednesday to Friday. New versions of the concept photos would be released on March 14 to 16 after dropping the music video teaser on March 12.
The track list, highlight film, and second music video teaser will be dropped three days before the official comeback on March 21.
