Here's Why Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer Didn't Reveal Maguire and Garfield

Excitement has been building for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home film. Fans clamoring for the film's arrival has been evident ever since Marvel and Sony released the first trailer.


The film will feature Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange and Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Having Cumberbatch as part of the film confirms that the Multiverse will certainly become a major part of the film. The film will even feature Alfred Molina as he reprises his role as Doctor Octopus.


The trailer did not show everything. Previous Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have been rumored to be part of the film which means that the film will swing its way into different timelines.


The rumors have become so prevalent that some actors stopped pretending about it. Mr. Dell actor JB Smoove that he'll love to see Maguire working with Tom Holland.


Sony and Marvel never confirmed the involvement of the two actors with some people convinced that they may not appear after all. If they are truly taking part in the film, why did the first trailer didn't show them at all?


There can be two reasons as to why they were not in the first trailer. One of the reasons is because they will not be in the film at all. The second reason may be about marketing purposes.

The first trailer is just the beginning of the marketing of the film. It showed the foundations of the film. Sony and Marvel may just be holding back the scenes with Garfield and Maguire to use it for the second phase of marketing.


They may increase the hype by releasing a trailer showing footage with the two Spider-Man actors when the release date is much closer. This strategy will bring more impact to the marketing strategy of the film.


Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released on December 17, 2021.
