Here's Why Deadpool Survived Thanos' Snap In Avengers: Infinity War

Thanos' destructive snap certainly had a devastating effect on the world in Avengers: Infinity War. However, one character who has been confirmed to survive the Snappening is Deadpool. So how exactly did the Merc with the Mouth manage to escape a horrible fate?

The explanation comes from Kevin Feige himself. The Marvel Studios president recently made an appearance at the Britannia Awards in Beverly Hills. Interestingly, Feige explained why Deadpool was unaffected by the snap (via Variety).

"Technically speaking, he was not in the MCU, he was not in that cinematic universe, so he was not affected, probably," Feige stated.

That's a fair explanation. But what are the chances that Deadpool will eventually appear in an MCU flick? Feige chose to play coy with his response, explaining that Disney has not yet finalized the 20th Century Fox acquisition.

"The merger's not done. What I will say is, for years and years the dream has been to have access to as many of our characters back so that we can tell those stories at Marvel Studios. If and when that happens, I'll be very excited. ... We have ideas just from going back 18 years, but nothing specific."

It certainly sounds like Feige is definitely planning to bring Deadpool into one of the future MCU movies. We're not yet sure which film would be the best way to introduce Ryan Reynolds' character into the universe. However, it is possible that the X-Force film will be released by Marvel and Disney.

A PG-13 cut of Deadpool 2 is scheduled for release this December.
