Thor: Love and Thunder is going to be the second Marvel film Taika Waititi directs, the first being this film's predecessor Thor: Ragnarok, which is AMAZING. We know that the movie is currently scheduled for a November 5, 2021 release and it looks like Waititi is going to start putting on his directing hat soon, revealing that shooting for the movie will begin later this year.
Speaking with Variety, Waititi revealed that Love and Thunder will begin shooting this August in Australia, while also discussing the country's wildfire situation, acknowledging how much of a tragedy it is. While we doubt that the movie will reference this event, it would be pretty cool to see Waititi acknowledge it somehow and pay tribute to the country, along with all the lives lost.
Details on the plot of Thor: Love and Thunder are pretty minimum, though we do know that Jane Foster will return and become a version of Thor somehow, with Natalie Portman reprising her role. This is confusing since Chris Hemsworth is also returning and will still be Thor so it will be interesting to see how Waititi handles this particular plot-point.
Also, Valkyrie might finally be the bisexual goddess she was meant to be in Ragnarok and we're all in for that. Please do this Marvel Studios, lord knows that these movies could use some good LGBTQ representation.
Thor: Love and Thunder is coming out on November 5, 2021.
