Star Wars: Episode IX might be a year away from its release date, however production for the film's been set for this summer. Now, a recent announcement from Lucasfilm might have accidentally confirmed another important Star Wars: Episode IX date for fans to keep track of.

Lucasfilm just recently announced the date and location of Star Wars Celebration 2019, telling fans that the convention would be held at McCormick Place in Chicago from April 11 to April 15. All Star Wars fans know that Lucasfilm uses big conventions like Star Wars Celebration as a platform to make announcements and bring exclusive screenings, panels with Star Wars films' cast and crew, sneak peaks at upcoming projects, as well as signing events. Conventions also make the perfect platform for debuting teasers.

If history really does repeat itself, fans could see the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX at Star Wars Celebration 2019. After all, the second teaser for The Force Awakens debuted at Celebration Anaheim on April 2015. The first teaser for Rogue One made its way to the public on April 7, 2016. In Celebration Orlando last year, Lucasfilm also unveiled the teaser for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Of course, Lucasfilm could drop the teaser on any day of the convention, so there's no telling when exactly Episode IX's first teaser trailer will come out. We'll just have to wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019. Lucasfilm's latest release, Solo: A Star Wars Story, hits cinemas May 25.
