Here’s The Eternals Working Title Set For Production

Marvel might be busy promoting its last film of 2019, Spider-Man: Homecoming, but that doesn't mean the studio has forgotten work on its upcoming prequel titles.

The development of The Eternals seems to be coming along just fine. According to a new report by HN Entertainment, the project is in the middle of pre-production and has currently received a working title called Sack Lunch.

While the news doesn't mean much in terms of spoilers, it does confirm previous reports suggesting that development for The Eternals will begin later this year so that it can complete production sometime late in 2020. According to the report, The Eternals is set to begin filming immediately after Marvel completes work on Black Widow at the Pinewood Studios in United Kingdom.

Right now there's very little news about The Eternals, though we already know that Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie has been in talks to join the film. A number of trade sites also report that Marvel has tapped Chloe Zhao as the project's director with a script from the writing brothers Ryan and Matthew Firpo.

Word on the street also suggests that Captain Marvel's cinematographer Ben Davis, The Girl in the Spider's Web production designer Eve Stewart, and Guardians of the Galaxy costume designer Alexandra Byrne, are all being brought into the project.

For those who aren't comic book savvy, The Eternals are a fictional species of human that appeared five million years ago thanks to the experiments of the Celestials.

Marvel's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
