Here’s The Dating Advice Carrie Fisher Gave Daisy Ridley

The late Carrie Fisher's experienced a lot as a princess of the Star Wars franchise, and meeting the new protagonist of the sequel trilogy, the Star Wars legend couldn't help but give Daisy Ridley a bit of advice to help her through her time as an actress in Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away.

Speaking with Vogue magazine (via The Irish News), Ridley recounted the some of the advice Fisher gave her about romance, saying that the Star Wars legend had warned her that dating would be a bit difficult for her after she joined the massive franchise.

"'You don't want to give people the ability to say ‘I had sex with Princess Leia'," Ridley remembered Fisher talking about how finding romance was difficult for any Star Wars actor or actress. "I'd never met anyone openly bipolar before, who discussed loving glitter because of her LSD days."

Ridley rose to fame after being cast as the Jakku orphan Rey in The Force Awakens, and during the interview, the actress admitted that she had to turn to therapy after struggling to cope with the impact fame had on her life.

"Everything was so confusing.People were recognizing me – I still don't know how to handle it," Ridley revealed. "My skin got really bad because I was stressed. It was crippling. I just felt so seen and so self-conscious."

It must be difficult adjusting to a sudden wave of fame, giving away your personal life and feeling like "everyone's trying to take ownership of you" just because you play the main character in a beloved franchise. We sincerely hope that Ridley gets better at dealing with it soon.
