Gears 5 is one of the few games that fans are willing to buy an Xbox One for and it seems to have met fan expectations. The game has a lot of fanfare and, knowing Microsoft, there will probably be another installment after this one. One of the cooler extras that were recently added is the ability to play as Dave Bautista, who has more than a hundred recorded lines of dialogue, feeling like a completely different character at times.
According to the official Gears 5 website, players simply have to head to the customization menu and find him under the Marcus character. This is pretty neat since Batista has wanted to play as Marcus in the game's live-action movie, though that doesn't seem like it will happen. We're gonna have to wait for that day to come but at least fans can play as him in the game.
Here's what The Coalition's Rod Fergusson had to say about adding Bautista, calling him by his WWE name Batista:
"Adding Batista to Gears 5, we started with the fantasy of ‘Batista as Marcus,' putting Batista into Marcus' armor, and starting with Marcus' script. Then we added elements of "The Animal" Batista into his voice performance and onto his look by adding his signature Hollywood shades to his character. Batista was great in the booth and I can't wait for Gears and Batista fans alike to stomp some Swarm as The Animal."
Unfortunately, Bautista will only be free for a limited since so if you don't get him by October 28, chances are that players are gonna have to spend for him. Still, the fact that there's so much time before the character becomes paid DLC should be enough incentive for people to buy the game already, especially if they already have an Xbox One.
Gears 5 is now available on Xbox One.
