Thanks to the latest episode of The Mandalorian Season 2, we now know that Baby Yoda was able to escape the Jedi Temple on Coruscant just in time to avoid a particular Sith Lord. But how exactly did Grogu managed to leave before the shocking massacre? A new theory suggests that The Child was actually whisked away by some of the coolest characters in the Star Wars Universe.
In Chapter 13: The Jedi, Ahsoka Tano bonded with Baby Yoda and revealed the Child's past to Mando. It was confirmed that Baby Yoda's name is actually Grogu and that he was once a youngling who trained in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. In addition to that, Grogu was smuggled out of the temple just as the Empire took over and that he was rescued by a mysterious figure.
Or could it actually be a group of mysterious figures? A theory posted on Reddit suggests that the mission to take Baby Yoda out of Coruscant was entrusted to Clone Force 99, the elite commando squad that appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and are set to star in their own show The Bad Batch. It is also suggested that Grogu will appear in the animated series as his backstory is revealed.
This is a cool idea considering that it means Baby Yoda will appear in more Star Wars shows in the future. However, it is important to point out that this has not yet been confirmed by Disney and Lucasfilm so it's best to take it with a grain of salt.
The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 5 is now available for streaming on Disney+.
