Here’s Captain Marvel’s Original Role In Avengers: Infinity War

There might have been a lot of speculation that Brie Larson's Captain Marvel might appear in Avengers: Infinity War however recent confirmation revealed that Carol Danvers' appearance n the movie was actually chucked out.

Though the actress had actually been on the set of Infinity War, Marvel decided to write Carol Danvers out of the film so that she could be given a proper introduction in the upcoming Captain Marvel standalone film.

Now in a new interview with IGN,Infinity War screenwriter Stephen McFeely opens up about Captain Marvel's original role in the first installment of The Russo Brother's two-part Avengers movie. According to the writer, Carol Danvers was supposed to be Captain America's (Chris Evans) counterpart, taking on the same kind of spirit as Steve Rogers.

"(Captain Marvel is) in some ways the closest to Captain America which is a weird, now rare kind of character which is sort of a person who's right and knows they're right and doesn't really want to hear it when you tell them they're wrong. So, with all these flawed, f***ed up people and Quill - who's a mess - and Tony - who's a massive ego - all contorted, it's fun to get another person with a clear vision in there and going, Shut up."

Though fans continue to believe that Captain Marvel might appear in Infinity War, leaving Carol Danvers out of the film might actually do more good for the character. It's going to be hard squeezing time for everyone in a film with more than sixty characters. Captain Marvel deserves a proper introduction.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27. Its sequel, Avengers 4 premieres May 3, 2019.
