Last night, the Hugo Awards awarded creators at the 77th World Science Convention in Dublin, Ireland. The Hugo Awards is one of the biggest events in genre writing, celebrating some of the year's best sci-fi and fantasy across books, films, TV, fan works, comics, and more.
Mary Robinette Kowal won the prestigious Best Novel Award for her novel The Calculating Stars, the first book of her Lady Astronaut series, set on an alternate Earth where a meteor collision brings out a new kind of space race for humanity.
The third volume of Sana Takeda and Marjorie Liu's fantasy series Monstress won Best Graphic Story and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Good Place won in the Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form and Shortform categories respectively.
