Naturally, fans were given renewed hope that Cavill's reinstatement as Superman meant that Zack Snyder was on his way back as well. However, according to a new rumor, the 39-year-old actor isn't keen on possibly collaborating with the former DCEU director.

Giant Freakin Robot reports that Cavill prefers a more vibrant take on Superman now that WB Discovery is working on Man of Steel 2. The outlet's source claims that the British star wants his next Superman film to be "lightened a bit" in terms of tone as opposed to Snyder's grimmer version.

The report seems to suggest that Cavill wants to move away from Snyder who directed him on more than one occasion which is obviously a bit surprising. considering their long working relationship.

The idea of Cavill's rumored disinterest in working with Snyder again seems a little too hard to believe, especially considering it was the director who brought him to the dance in the first place. On top of that, Henry had nothing but praises for the Snyder Cut which is night and day compared to Joss Whedon's version of Justice League.

Details about Man of Steel 2 remain under wraps. Meanwhile, Henry Cavill is reportedly involved in Black Adam which is now screening in cinemas.
