All eyes were on DC's panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con after several reports made their rounds on the internet that Henry Cavill will be making a surprise appearance at the event. According to the hot rumor which made headlines days prior to SDCC, Cavill was set to address his Superman future in the DC Extended Universe but apparently, none of it was true and the British actor no-showed the panel.

Naturally, DC fans are once again putting the blame on Warner Bros. for failing to listen to what the fandom has been pleading to see for years and that of course is Cavill's full-time comeback to the franchise.

Interestingly, it looks like WB isn't the one preventing Cavill from re-entering the DCEU and according to a new report, the 39-year-old star is the problem. Insider ViewerAnon claims that the studio has been trying to persuade The Witcher actor to renew his deal but the actor is said to be "unwilling" to make his return as Kal-El.

Details regarding Cavill's rumored hesitance were not disclosed but the outlet speculates that it has something to do with money. Check out the tweet below:

Of course, it's best to take this rumor with a huge grain of salt but what if the reason behind WB using a faceless Superman has something to do with them trying to talk Cavill into making his Man of Steel comeback? I mean, if WB really had the intention of removing him from the fold, they would've recast the part a long time ago but that's just my theory.

Meanwhile, DC's upcoming film Black Adam is set for theatrical release on October 21, 2022.
