Henry Cavill suffered back-to-back blows in 2022 after losing two coveted roles in just a span of one month. After announcing that he's exiting The Witcher after Season 3, potentially to make way for his supposed Superman comeback, it was later confirmed by DC Studios head James Gunn that the 39-year-old British star will no longer be playing the Man of Steel in the DCU.

Despite that, Cavill is still attached to several projects, including Amazon's live-action adaptation of Warhammer 40,000 and the Highlander remake. However, it looks like the actor will no longer be part of the latter and according to a new rumor, Cavill has been replaced in the project by another A-list star.

Giant Freakin Robot reports that the upcoming reboot directed by Chad Stahelski has dropped Cavill in favor of another Hemsworth. The outlet claims that Thor actor Chris Hemsworth is being eyed for the role but the specifics have not been disclosed.

News surrounding the reimagining of Highlander have remained scarce but Stahelski stated last year that the film is still being developed and that they're in the process of "tweaking" the project.

As it stands, Hemsworth's rumored casting has not been confirmed yet so of course, take this rumor with a huge grain of salt. It's also worth noting that the MCU veteran is taking a break from acting to focus on his health so the chances of him being involved in Highlander are quite slim.

It'll be interesting to see how Cavill bounces back after losing two of his most iconic roles but it won't be hard for an actor of his caliber to land major roles.
