Henry Cavill has been the talk of the geek community for several months now after losing his spot in the DC Universe as Superman and shockingly leaving Netflix's The Witcher franchise after a three-season run as Geralt of Rivia. The 39-year-old star is currently attached to Amazon's live-action adaptation of Warhammer 40,000 but speculation surrounding his acting future hasn't died down.

Following his departure from the DCU and The Witcher, fans began rallying behind the actor to join another major franchise with the Marvel Cinematic Universe being one of the obvious options. While the MCU casting possibility sounds fun, other fans think he'd be a better fit in the Star Wars universe.

Speaking of the beloved science-fiction property, Cavill is now sparking speculation about potentially appearing in a galaxy far, far away. On Twitter, award-winning screenwriter Gary Whitta who penned the early draft for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story shared an image of him and the actor hanging out somewhere in Los Angeles. Naturally, it set the entire fandom ablaze. Check it out here:

As it stands, we don't know if Cavill and Whitta's surprise get-together was completely coincidental or not but if it ends up being a meeting for an upcoming project, I think we can already safely say that it's gonna be massive. Assuming that's the case, it's still hard to tell whether or not it's going to be Star Wars-related since Whitta hasn't been involved in the franchise for quite some time now. But hey, Henry Cavill playing either a Sith or a Jedi sounds like a tremendous idea.
