Henry Cavill is Still Superman: 'I've Not Given Up on the Role'

There was a lot of love for #ReleaseTheSnyderCut last weekend, and though most of the main stars of Justice League have come out to show their support, Henry Cavill was oddly quiet about it on social media. What's interesting is, he just did an interview talking about Justice League, and confirms that he hasn't left the role of Superman.

Talking to Men's Health, Cavill says, "The cape is in the closet… It's still mine." He goes on to say, "I'm not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on… I've not given up the role. There's a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That's important to me. There's a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You'll see."

This should come as good news for fans, seeing that a lot of outlets have said that Cavill has left the role for good. With Cavill onboard, and the rest of the other League members still very supportive of Snyder's vision, I'm crossing my fingers that Ben Affleck decides to come back for Batman. I mean, I'm all up for Robert Pattinson's take on the Dark Knight, but with that taking place in an alternate timeline, I would love for the DCEU's Batman to stick around.

We don't know when the next Superman film will come out, but you can catch Cavill in The Witcher which hits Netflix on Dec. 20.
