Warner Bros. Discovery's 10-year DC Extended Universe plans have not been laid out yet but it's already evident that the merger, led by CEO David Zaslav wants to make serious changes to the franchise. Now, it looks like the DCEU is on the verge of a rebirth with rumors of Zack Snyder signing a lucrative deal with the company in 2023.

Not only that, but Henry Cavill is reportedly gearing up for his much-awaited big-screen return as Superman. According to DCEU scooper Syl Abdul, Cavill has already filmed scenes for his grand comeback as the Man of Steel in Black Adam. It was previously rumored that the upcoming project starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson includes a post-credits scene that sets up the titanic clash between his anti-hero and Superman.

However, several outlets insisted that it will be another "faceless" Superman cameo but follow-up reports have confirmed that Warner Bros. Discovery ordered the film to undergo additional photography although details about the scene they reshot have not been disclosed.

As for Cavill, conflicting reports about his DCEU status have circulated online with some even claiming that he's turned down an offer to return as Superman to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I may be reaching a little bit here but it's probably the reason why Johnson wasn't as concerned when fans began booing him during San Diego Comic-Con after implying that he's unsure about Henry's DCEU future. I for one definitely hope there's actual truth to the said rumor because Cavill's Superman return has been long overdue.

Despite the latest DCEU delays, Black Adam is still on track for a theatrical release on October 21, 2022.
