The fan campaign to see Henry Cavill jump ship to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is in full swing and now that his days as the Man of Steel are pretty much over, a lot of people believe that the 39-year-old British actor should seek opportunities at Marvel Studios.
Long before the confirmation that he won't be playing Superman in the new DCU, MCU diehards have been fan-casting Henry in various roles — from Hyperion to Captain Britain but it turns out that some fans are also toying with the idea of him playing a more prominent role in the billion-dollar franchise.
A fan-edited image depicting Henry as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic has been making the rounds online. The image which was first seen on Reddit sees the actor in an Alex Ross-style art which looks "fantastic" (pun may or may not be intended) and the upvotes alone pretty much tell you that a lot of people are on board with the idea. As it stands, Henry is currently attached to Amazon's live-action adaptation of Warhammer 40,000 which is definitely a blessing in disguise after the series of bad luck he's encountered. Now, whether or not he lands himself a role in the MCU remains to be seen but I gotta say, Marvel Studios would be foolish not to get his services.
Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is slated for theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
