Hellboy Trailer Accidentally Leaked by Official Movie Account

To the surprise of many, the rebooted Hellboy movie just had its first official trailer leaked and it is not what we were expecting. Leaks like these are usually done by outside forces but this one happened due to an accident or incompetence, as the official Hellboy Twitter shared the trailer before quickly deleting it. Looks like someone will be losing a job or two over this but let's go ahead and talk about the trailer.

With all this talk about the film being R-18, the trailer might shock people by showing how, well, light it is. Hellboy overreacts to a policeman shooting him, which gets a "my bad" from the said shooter. We see him accidentally go down to too many floors thanks to his enormous right hand. Simply put, the trailer is very comedic, which isn't the worst thing in the world but could bother those that wanted a more horror-oriented romp.

In fairness, David Harbour looks awesome as Hellboy and seeing him take on a different set of beasts does give the film a sense of epic-ness. We also see Milla Jovovich as the main villain, though she doesn't look too frightening (yet). This is only the first trailer after all and we can probably expect a new form in the final cut.

Silliness aside, it looks like this could be a decent enough film, though those that wanted the third film from Guillermo del Toro might be disappointed with this movie's tone. Once again, this is far from terrible-looking and even del Toro's movies had comedy in them so this isn't the end of the world.

Hellboy comes out on April 12, 2019.
