The upcoming Hellboy reboot coming in April has received a mixed reaction from fans thus far, with many feeling conflicted about the focus on comedy in its first trailer. Some fans are hoping that it's misdirection and we'll see a more horror-influenced comic book movie when it comes out, though others are still wishing that Ron Perlman and Guillermo del Toro were still in the franchise.
Well, fans of Perlman's work will be happy to know that the two Hellboy animated films that came out in 2006 and 2007 respectively are being re-released in 4K HD and Blu-Ray. The films in question are Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms and Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron. These two films were lauded by fans back in the day, thanks to beautiful animation and strong voice work, so those excited for the live-action film should pick this package up on April 2.
Ain't that a coincidence? That's 10 days before the live-action Hellboy.
