Hellboy and Ben Daimio Stand Together in New Still

It's been a while since we've gotten any significant updates on the Hellboy reboot, and the movie is set to come out in April. Thanks to Empire, we have a new still of David Harbour's Hellboy alongside Daniel Dae Kim's Ben Daimio.

Check them out:

Interestingly, Ben Daimio was supposed to be played by Deadpool's Ed Skrein, but after the backlash on whitewashing, he ultimately stepped down from the role; opening it up for Kim to take over.

While I'm sure a lot of people haven't gotten over the reboot of the franchise, I'm willing to give this movie a chance. I think Harbour plays the character pretty much like Ron Perlman did, and the trailer was a lot of fun. Not to mention his version of Hellboy looks like he jumped straight out of the comics.

On the bright side, if this movie bombs, I think Lionsgate already has a clear idea that the fans wanted to see Guillermo del Toro's franchise properly concluded. Just like Sony decided to cancel the Ghostbusters reboot, they can probably do the same thing with del Toro.

That is if this movie bombs—which I actually hope it doesn't.

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Hellboy is set to come out April 12.
