Here's What Happened Before Heavenly Delusion Episode 3

Heavenly Delusion Episode 2 starts with Tokio bringing their thoughts about the outside world to Tarao, a classmate who is sick, with bruises all over his body.

Tarao's condition seems to be deteriorating, so the conversation is cut short.

Meanwhile, Tokio is caught up amidst some of their classmates' first romances and jealousies.

Elsewhere, Maru and Kiruko realize that their host drugged them and intentionally exposed them to a monster known as Man-Eater.

The woman tries to prevent them from killing the monster, claiming that it is her son, Yuto.

While there does seem to be a form of communication between her and the Man-Eater, the latter eventually bites off her head, killing her.

Once they escape, Maru and Kiruko reach a village where the locals welcome them.

Maru reveals that he possesses a drug and that he must find someone who looks like him (presumably Tokio) and inject them with it to help them overcome an ailment.

However, Maru gets increasingly desperate and believes that they are never going to find Heaven, where the person he's looking for is presumed to be.

He clumsily confesses his romantic feelings to Kiruko and suggests that they stay in the village together.

Kiruko rejects his advances and comes out as a trans man (at least this is how we interpret Kiruko's confession at this point).

Manga readers know that the case is a bit more complicated -- and unfortunately not as inclusive -- but Episode 2 definitely left us keen to watch more of Heavenly Delusion's unfolding mysteries.

Heavenly Delusion Episode 3 will be available on Japanese channels such as Tokyo MX and BS11. Meanwhile, fans outside Japan will be able to stream it on Disney+.

You might sometimes wonder if Disney+ is worth it for anime fans. It's a bit early to tell, given the limited number of anime originals on Disney.

To make matters worse, Disney+ has more or less buried Heavenly Delusion by using the lesser-known original title Tengoku Daimakyou on its platforms.

However, we are enjoying the dystopian anime so far and we'd definitely watch more.
