In case you wanted a break from all the isekai and shonen anime being released, here’s something that you should put on your watch list. Recently, the Heavenly Delusion anime was confirmed to get a simulcast on Disney+ and other Disney-owned platforms.

The show’s simulcast details were revealed by Disney’s Senior Manager of English Dubbing, Reuben Lack, via Twitter.

Lack also revealed that an English dub of the anime will be released soon.

While the Spring 23 season is dominated by big shonen titles like Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc, there are still several alternative shows to look forward to. One of these is Heavenly Delusion, an upcoming sci-fi series.

Based on the manga series of the same name from Kodansha, Heavenly Delusion is a sci-fi anime by Production I.G with an interesting premise.

Specifically, the series follows a group of children who live in a facility that’s isolated from the outside world.

They are there because a disaster wiped out modern civilization 15 years ago.

Soon though, one of the children named Tokio receives a message asking her if she wants to go outside.

In the meantime, a boy named Maru (who looks exactly like Tokio) is roaming the devastated outside world alongside a girl named Kiruko.

Based on the series’ premise, this anime should appeal to fans who love a good mystery, as well as those who are into post-apocalyptic settings.

After all, while they are fun, shonen or isekai anime can get a bit old.

While not made via official channels, Heavenly Delusion was revealed to get a Disney+ simulcast outside Japan.

This makes sense given that the anime is based on a Kodansha-published manga.

Recently, Disney announced that it has deepened its partnership with Kodansha, meaning more titles from the publisher will be streamed on Disney’s platforms.

For starters, Tokyo Revengers Season 2 got a Disney+ release this January.

The Heavenly Delusion anime will be released in Japan on April 1, 2023. It will then be streamed on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in most of the world. Latin American fans will be able to watch it on Star+.

For now, we’ll have to wait for more details on the English dub as the cast and release date have yet to be revealed.
