[SPOILERS FOR HBO'S WATCHMEN]
While a lot of the alt-right have been hating on HBO's Watchmen, a lot of critics have been praising Damon Lindelof's fantastic follow-up to Alan Moore's original comic. The latest episode has given us an origin story for Looking Glass, and during the flashback, we get a shot of Ozymandias' squid attack in New York.

It's really interesting to see the event from ground zero, and it's really great how they were able to write it into LG's origin story. Besides the people who died on impact, the squid was also said to release a psychic wave that left people with great trauma—one of those people was Looking Glass.
At this point, I'm kind of disappointed that Zack Snyder's Watchmen didn't end with the squid finale because it would have directly connected to this show. Then again, Snyder didn't know that Lindelof would be making a sequel series this fantastic back when he was making the film in 2008. If anything, it was kind of ingenious that they found a way to blame Manhattan for the attacks rather than an alien squid.
If you're still on the fence about checking the show out, this episode should definitely change your mind. It's fantastic storytelling, and Lindelof knows how to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Let's just hope we get all our answers by the end of the first season.
For now, you can catch Lindelof's fantastic Watchmen on HBO every Sunday night.
