HBO Max's New Harry Potter Series Could Star Daniel Radcliffe and Original Film Cast

Big things are happening for the Harry Potter franchise now that the Wizarding World has found a new Headmaster. But could this mean that the franchise is going back to its roots? The planned Harry Potter series that could air on HBO Max might actually bring back Daniel Radcliffe and the cast of the original films.

Earlier last week, it was reported that Warner Bros. executive Tom Ascheim has been promoted to oversee the Harry Potter franchise in the studio's dealings with author J.K. Rowling.

Although Ascheim's responsibilities were not revealed in detail, he would be given the task to expand the Wizarding World "for the studio's various outlets and platform partners."

So what exactly is Ascheim planning for the Harry Potter franchise? A new series is reportedly in development and would stream exclusively on HBO Max. Although Warner Bros. has denied the reports, it is believed that the new show could be the project Radcliffe was supposed to work on last year.

It was previously reported that Radcliffe and the original Harry Potter cast were in negotiations to reprise their roles in a new project. Unfortunately, the plans did not push through due to COVID-19. On the other hand, there is a good chance it could happen this year instead.

For now, nothing has been confirmed but the idea of a new series that would feature Radcliffe and the original Harry Potter cast sounds amazing. It would be a great way to catch up with the characters after the events that took place in the movies.

What do you think of Radcliffe returning for a new Harry Potter series on HBO Max? Sound off in the comments below.
