One of the surprise gems in the last few years is the DC animated series Harley Quinn on HBO Max which has run for two seasons so far. While some of the details of the upcoming third season are under wraps at the moment, we do know that it will continue the zany adventure of the titular character and the other DC villains. Now, it looks like a prominent DC hero will be making his debut in the upcoming season voiced by a beloved actor of a popular comedy series.
Deadline has reported that What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillen is set to voice Nightwing in the third season of Harley Quinn. This news comes just over a week after he was cast to join the DCEU film Blue Beetle, making this another DC project that he will be involved in. He is joining fellow new cast member James Gunn, who is also set to make an appearance in the upcoming season.
In case you're not yet familiar with the character, Nightwing is most notably known as Dick Grayson's superhero moniker after he and Batman went on separate ways. The character has appeared in animated films such as Batman: Under the Hood and Son of Batman. There have been rumors that Warner Bros. and DC are working on a live-action film based on the character.
It is exciting to hear that Guillen is joining the voice cast of the series as Nightwing. He definitely has a delightful presence whenever he appears on-screen in shows such as What We Do in the Shadows and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist and, for sure, he will replicate that when we hear him as the voice of Nightwing in the upcoming season.
It would be curious to see how Nightwing will play in the upcoming season, especially since Robin showed up in the first two seasons as a young kid. This could hint that there might be a significant time jump once the third season starts. We will find out soon enough whether that's going to be the case.
