HBO Joins the Streaming Wars with New Trailer for HBO Max

We're less than a month away from the launch of Disney+, but HBO has decided to enter the streaming wars with their upcoming platform, HBO Max. Just in, they've released a preview that promises a ton of content as well as shows originally made for the service.

Here's the official description:

HBO Max is WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer offering debuting in spring 2020. With 10,000 hours of curated premium content anticipated at launch, HBO Max will offer powerhouse programming for everyone in the home, bringing together HBO, a robust slate of new original series, key third-party licensed programs, and movies, and fan favorites from WarnerMedia's rich library including Warner Bros., New Line, DC, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV, Turner Classic Movies, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Crunchyroll, Rooster Teeth, Looney Tunes and more.

While Disney may have Star Wars and Marvel, HBO has managed to nab a deal with DC and is even going to be streaming Joaquin Phoenix's Joker upon launch. What's more, Max is even going to have some original DC shows made, the biggest being a Green Lantern series currently in development with Greg Berlanti. Not to mention, the HBO originals already promise some high-end titles from Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Barry, and even more.

If anything, Disney+ still has a fighting chance with its low price tag of $6.99 a month. HBO Max will be worth $14.99, but it does have a lot of great shows under its belt.

We don't know how all of this will go down in the end, but the "Streaming Wars" has just begun.

HBO Max is set to launch sometime in May 2020.
