Hayden Christensen Rumored to Be in Talks for Standalone Darth Vader Show

Never in a million years did some of us expect to see it go down but Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are finally heading back home to the Star Wars franchise thanks to Lucasfilm's expansion through Disney+. The two actors are set to reunite in the upcoming Obi-Wan series which takes place a full decade after the jaw-dropping events of Revenge of the Sith. Obviously, the title is a dead giveaway that the series will revolve around Anakin Skywalker's former mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi so it's safe to assume that Christensen could only make a few appearances on the project.

To those wishing to see Hayden's full-time return to the Star Wars franchise, we've got some promising news for you. According to the good folks over at Giant Freakin Robot, the actor is currently in talks with Lucasfilm to star in his own standalone series which will chronicle Darth Vader's life a few years after the Obi-Wan series. Key details about the rumored project are still scarce as of writing and all we can do for now is keep our fingers crossed and hope it actually happens.

Now, I'm not saying that I'm totally buying into the rumor but given the fact the Lucasfilm brought back Ewan for his own series, the idea of Hayden leading his own show as the menacing Darth Vader wouldn't be too farfetched to actually believe. And let's be real here, the House of Mouse would be foolish not to pull the trigger and capitalize on the hype and nostalgia McGregor and Christensen's upcoming reunion is generating. I guess only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Star Wars' Obi-Wan series is currently in production.
