Hayden Christensen Haunts the Soul as Old Darth Vader in Brand New Image

Hayden Christensen may have never appeared as old Darth Vader in the Star Wars prequels or sequels, however, it seems like a haunting new art piece gives fans a look at what the actor might have looked like if he ever had the chance to play old Anakin Skywalker.

Phase Runner just recently featured brand new Darth Vader fan art on Instagram, and in it we get to see what an aged Hayden Christensen Anakin Skywalker could look like without his heavy-breathing Darth Vader Helmet. The image of this gaunt and older Ani is haunting – in the sunken and hollow eyes of the Sith Lord, we get to see the regrets that he's had in his life. We also get to see Vader being taunted by the ghost of his past, his dead wife, Padme.

You can check out the art piece down here:

It really is a stunning art piece. It makes us wonder what Christensen may have looked like had he had the opportunity to appear in the Star Wars sequel trilogy as an aged Anakin Skywalker. Over the years there have been numerous reports about Christensen returning to the galaxy far, far away to make a few cameos. Fans have been hoping to see the actor in The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and in The Rise of Skywalker. Unfortunately, save for a small voice cameo in Episode IX, Christensen never really got the Star Wars come back that fans were hoping for.

There are rumors that the actor may very well have a role in Lucasfilm's Obi- Wan Kenobi series, however, that remains to be seen.

The entire Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
