Today, Netflix has revealed the key cast members for its upcoming League of Legends animated series, Arcane. The announcement reveals the characters — Champions of the League — the cast will be voicing, and Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld is the biggest cast member yet.
Steinfeld has been cast to play Vi, a beloved League Champion who fights with two giant metal gloves. Steinfeld, who will star in Marvel's Haweye as Kate Bishop, will voice the pink-haired bruiser.
Fellow League Champion and Vi's sister, Jinx, will be played by Ella Purnell, best known for starring in Army of the Dead and the upcoming Star Trek: Prodigy.
Vander, a new character who shares a name with a League pro player, will be played by JB Blanc (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul).
Jason Spisak (Young Justice) will play Silco, a non-Champion character.
Kevin Alejandro (Arrow, Lucifer, True Blood) will play Jayce, another League Champion.
Harry Potter actress Cho Chang, Katie Leung, will voice Caitlyn, Vi's cop partner and another League Champion.
Toks Lagundoye (Castlevania, Ducktales) will play a new character, Mel.
Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones, Legion) will be the voice of Viktor, a League Champion.
Netflix recently shared a teaser for Arcane, but the streaming giant hasn't revealed many plot details for the show yet. However, it looks like Arcane will be centered around the relationship between Vi and Jinx, and the split between two of Runeterra's great cities: Zaun and Piltover. It's likely that the show will take place in those cities because all of the Champions revealed are from those two cities. The first trailer for Arcane featured Jinx poking around an old fighting studio, intercut with clips of Vi.
Arcane is set to release on Netflix in Fall 2021. Riot Games and Netflix will debut the new trailer for Arcane on Sept. 25, during Netflix's global Tudum fan event.
