Hawkeye Star Hailee Steinfeld Breaks Silence on Kate Bishop Casting

Remember when Hailee Steinfeld kept denying that she is playing Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye series? It looks like the Bumblebee actress had been lying about the casting all this time. Luckily, Steinfeld has finally broken her silence after it was confirmed that she will appear in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Steinfeld was recently a guest on the radio station KICKS 99.1 (via ComicBookMovie) where she opened up about being a part of the MCU. Not surprisingly, the Pitch Perfect star admitted that she is "honored to be part of the MCU."

Interestingly, Steinfeld also pointed out that her casting was supposed to be kept a secret but it was somehow revealed by set photos. "Yeah, right, we were just trying to get somewhere and a couple of pictures were taken and now here we are," Steinfeld said.

Since the cat is now out of the bag, Steinfeld took time to praise her co-star Jeremy Renner.

"[I'm] so, so excited and honored obviously to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and be playing alongside Jeremy," she said. "He's wonderful and [it's] quite, quite a different world than Dickinson. You know, obviously, as an artist, as an actor, it's fun to be able to jump into different things such as the two. So it's been amazing."

It's great to know that Steinfeld is having the time of her life working on the MCU series. Hopefully, we'll get to see more updates about the show soon.

The Hawkeye series has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on Disney+ in late 2021.
