Hawkeye Series Allegedly Recasting Agents of SHIELD Character

It's been kind of an unspoken acceptance within the fandom that the Marvel spinoff shows don't take place in the same continuity as the MCU. No matter how much they try to reference the films, the movies don't seem to reciprocate that connection, and the separation is made even clearer with Marvel's upcoming Disney+ shows. What's interesting is, the Hawkeye series is set to bring back this Agents of SHIELD character, but it won't be the same one from the ABC show.

According to FandomWire, the Hawkeye series on Disney+ is set to reintroduce Bobbi Morse a.k.a. Mockingbird to the continuity; but too bad for fans of Adrianna Palicki because they are looking to cast a completely new face for the role.

In the comics, Mockingbird was also an agent of SHIELD and was even romantically involved with Hawkeye at a time. With Hawkeye already married in the main timeline, it would make sense that Mockingbird would be an old flame that he used to do missions with. Maybe she would even be familiar with Natasha Romanoff.

For now, we should just consider this a rumor since it's possible that Marvel might want to bring Palicki back. While the movies mostly ignore the connection with the series, they did bring back James D'Arcy from Agent Carter to play the Stark butler Jarvis in Avengers: Endgame. Who knows who else they could be planning to bring back?

Hawkeye is set for a release on Disney+ in the fall of 2021.
