Despite rumors of the series being cancelled, Hawkeye is still pushing forward. We haven't had any official updates on the show yet, but rumors have come out confirming an expansion of Clint Barton's world.

According to MCU Cosmic, the show will be introducing us to Clint Barton's brother, Barney Barton, who is the anti-hero Trickshot in the comics. We don't know what Barney's relevance would be to the story, but seeing as his brother is an Avenger, it would be interesting to see what kind of dynamic he has with Hawkeye. The source thinks this could lead to Trickshot being a member of the Thunderbolts, but that's just speculation for now.
What's more, is that the show will reportedly give us a look at the Tracksuit Mafia. They seem like a bunch of silly goons in the comics, but they have had a run-in with Hawkeye as well as his protƩgƩ (and rumored lead of this series) Kate Bishop.
Of course, we should take this with a grain of salt. We're still waiting for Marvel to make the official announcement.
While Black Widow gets her own movie, I'm kind of bummed that Hawkeye would get demoted to a Disney+ series. Then again, this opens up more room for characterization. Plus, it's likely the story will focus less on Clint and more on Kate who is likely to be the new Hawkeye of the MCU.
For now, Hawkeye is set to release on Disney+ in the fall of 2021. The first Marvel Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is rumored to be hitting the streaming service this August.
