Hawkeye Producer Reveals Christmas Movies That Influenced the Show

The promotional materials of Hawkeye have been marketing the series as a "holiday event" which became obvious in the footage that they released where we saw Clint Barton and Kate Bishop embark on a journey around the New York holiday season. Some fans who watched the first two episodes have also expressed that they are getting a holiday movie feel to the series.

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Hawkeye executive producer Trinh Tran shared which classic Christmas movies influenced the holiday aspect of the series. She said, "There’s definitely that style in there. There’s Home Alone, which I really love as well, too. Die Hard obviously has the action, has that character. So, we looked at a ton of them. We looked at different Christmas music as well, too. But most importantly was also, 'How do we integrate it and maintain that feeling that we’re after in all the projects that we have created?'"

Home Alone and Die Hard are considered Christmas movie classics (although there is an ongoing debate if the latter is actually a Christmas movie or not). Based on the two episodes that aired, you can definitely feel that those two films have some sort of influence on the series especially since they are balancing both the humor and action-packed elements.

The responses to the first two episodes have been mostly positive so far from both critics and the audience. Its holiday theme has also been welcomed by fans as the MCU doesn't really delve much into the holiday season in its film and shows (with the exception of Iron Man 3). They also can't wait to see what's next on the following episodes after what happened at the end of the second episode, which promises a wild ride for Clint Barton and Kate Bishop.
