After many months of asking about Hawkeye, the latest Marvel's Avengers War Table stream has confirmed that the Avenging Archer will be playable as the game's first post-launch hero. We then got to see a short teaser of Clint Barton in action, showing the most shocking thing about his appearance in the game; HE'S BALD!
That does it, 2 out of 10, worst Marvel game ever, #bringbackhawkeyeshair.
Jokes aside, we're happy to see Hawkeye in Marvel's Avengers since it finally completes the MCU version of this superhero team, which a lot of fans probably wanted to remake. It is weird how they made him bald since he looks less like Clint Barton and more like Cole Macgrath from the Infamous games but with a bow.
Still, Crystal Dynamics did reveal a bunch of cool stuff when it came to the post-launch DLC heroes. For one thing, they will each get a campaign mode that can be played solo or with friends, unlike the main story mode. Clint will likely get a number of customization items that will make him look more like his comic book counterpart so here's hoping we can get his hair back.
It seems like "where's Hawkeye" has officially become a running joke since they wondered where he was during Avengers: Infinity War and demanded that he be playable for this game. Funnily enough, Hawkeye has appeared in a majority of Marvel games since the release of 2012's The Avengers, being playable in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.
Hawkeye will come to Marvel's Avengers sometime after its release as free DLC and with his own story campaign. Marvel's Avengers is slated for a September 4 release on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. It will also get a free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
