Hasbro Revenue Increases Thanks to Star Wars and Frozen 2

It looks like Hasbro enjoyed an increase in sales during the last quarter of 2019 and it's all thanks to Star Wars and Frozen 2.

Hasbro held an earnings call earlier this week (via ComicBook.com), and during its meeting, the toy company revealed that its net revenues increased by 3% during the fourth quarter of 2019 with its $1.43 billion larger than the $1.39 billion earned in the fourth quarter of 2018.

According to the company, the increased revenue comes from the demand for toys tied to the releases of two of Disney's highly-anticipated sequels. First, came Frozen 2. The sequel to Disney's CGI-animated musical fantasy-comedy drama generated a whole new demand for dolls, castles, and plushies. Then came Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which generated a demand for Star Wars figures and collectibles.

Of course, Star Wars and Frozen aren't the only significant players in Hasbro's line-up. The company also credited its new products based on Spider-Man and Marvel's Avengers when it comes to helping increase revenue growth.

"The global Hasbro team delivered a good year and achieved key objectives we set for 2019. We profitably grew revenues across regions absent foreign exchange supported by the successful execution of our channel strategy; we delivered growth in Magic: The Gathering driven by the successful launch of Arena and we executed at a high level during the holiday season," Hasbro Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Brian Goldner said during the earnings call.

Hasbro's brands like Magic: The Gather, Power Rangers (which the company just recently purchased) and Dungeons and Dragons also performed pretty well last year.

All in all, we're glad to hear that Hasbro's been doing good in the market. We hope that the company produces more figures for the Star Wars and Marvel franchise, especially now that the galaxy far, far away is moving away from the Skywalker saga.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in cinemas.
