Has Cobie Smulders Been Confirmed for Spider-Man: Far from Home?

Besides playing Robin in How I Met Your Mother, Cobie Smulders has found a spot in the Marvel fanbase's hearts as Nick Fury's second in command Maria Hill. As it turns out, Hill may have been confirmed for an appearance in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, Far from Home.

Actor Numan Acar, who had recently been cast in the movie, shared a post in Instagram, and his hashtags seemingly confirmed that he was working alongside Smulders. He even hashtagged her character Maria Hill.

Seeing that Peter Parker has been recruited for the Avengers, I wouldn't be surprised if Maria Hill would pop up and try to keep tabs on him. Though Hill may seem a bit no nonsense in the movies, I would love for her to crack wise alongside the likes of Spider-Man. Smulders has proven herself to have impeccable comic timing, and it would be fun to see her bring some of that to a character like Hill.

For now, we should wait for an official announcement, but why would Acar lie about an appearance? Then again, there's always the chance that the role could end up on the cutting room floor. The same thing happened to Tom Hardy with his cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Spider-Man: Far from Home hits theaters July 5, 2019.
