At this point, everybody knows that the Eternals mid-credits scene introduced Thanos' not-so-purple brother Eros. The best part of the surprise is that the character is actually played by none other than Harry Styles. Now, the former One Direction member has spoken up about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and not surprisingly, he admits that he was eager to be a part of the Chloe Zhao movie for an obvious reason.
In the Eternals mid-credits scene, Thena, Makkari and Druig are wondering what happened to Sersi, Phastos, and Kingo when they are visited by Pip the Troll. The minuscule assistant then introduces Eros, who offers his help in finding the rest of the Eternals.
It's an awesome and unexpected scene that had audiences gasping since there had been previous reports that Harry Styles was joining the MCU but the project was not revealed. Interestingly, the Dunkirk star himself told Dazed that although it was just a small role, he was eager to do it because of a childhood ambition.
“I’m only in right at the very end,” Styles said. “But who didn’t grow up wanting to be a superhero, you know? It was a great experience and I’m so grateful to have gotten to work with Chloé.”
We can't really blame Styles for his eagerness. After all, every young actor out there would jump at the chance to appear in an MCU movie. However, he did get a little help from Zhao, who previously admitted she had wanted to cast Styles as the future Starfox after watching the Christopher Nolan film.
For now, it is unclear which MCU project Styles will show up in after Eternals. However, fans are hoping that Starfox will be back soon to help the Eternals. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
