There's no denying that the Star Wars franchise boasts an impressive ensemble of actors and over the years, some pretty interesting names have been rumored to be joining the beloved science-fiction epic. In case you weren't aware, Tom Felton, who famously played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films was reportedly eyed to play young Han Solo in 2018's divisive film Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Solo received generally negative reviews from fans and critics alike, and is considered a box office flop, only grossing $393 million at the end of its theatrical run. Over the last couple of years, however, the pre-Skywalker Saga film has gained a cult following from Star Wars diehards.

Going back to Felton, in an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Harry Potter franchise alumnus finally addressed the long-standing rumor that he was in contention for the role. Debunking his rumored involvement in the Star Wars spinoff film, Felton said: "definitely not".

He also ruled out the possibility of him playing the character portrayed by Harrison Ford and Alden Ehrenreich, adding: "I’m not up-to-date on these things but no, no Solo at the moment."

Speaking of Solo, director Ron Howard previously stated that the fate of the sequel is not in his hands but he admits that the support given to his divisive film is gratifying. A sequel to the 2018 film doesn't seem likely but that's not to say that Han's adventures can't continue, especially with Star Wars doing so well on streaming.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is available to stream on Disney+.
