Harry Potter Star Ralph Fiennes will Play Another Villain in Netflix's Matilda the Musical Adaptation

We already know and love (or hate) Ralph Fiennes as the terrifying Voldemort in the Harry Potter films. However, it looks like the No Time to Die star will be playing yet another villain who once scared thousands of children. Fiennes is reportedly in negotiations to play Miss Agatha Trunchbull in the film adaptation of Matilda the Musical.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix and Sony Pictures will team up to create a film adaptation of the musical which in turn is based on the Roald Dahl book. Soon after the news was confirmed, entertainment columnist Baz Bamigboye tweeted that Fiennes is already in talks to play the scary headmistress.

Miss Trunchbull is undoubtedly one of the most terrifying antagonists in literature. After all, what could be scarier than a gigantic headmistress who loves to bully the children around her? She might be even worse than Voldemort himself (although she seems kind compared to Dolores Umbridge, right?) and it would be interesting to see Fiennes take on this character. For now, the casting has not yet been confirmed but we'll keep you updated on this story.

It looks like Fiennes is on a roll right now. He just provided the voice of Barry the tiger in Robert Downey Jr.'s Dolittle and is set to appear as M in No Time to Die this April. In addition to that, he will play the Duke of Oxford in The King's Man.

No Time to Die will premiere on April 10 while The King's Man is scheduled for release on September 18.
