A month ago, we learned that HBO Max is hosting a Harry Potter reunion special in which we would see the original cast members of the Harry Potter series reunite to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The news definitely delighted fans and, now, we have our first look teaser on the much-awaited special.
HBO Max has released the first look teaser for the upcoming Harry Potter reunion special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts. The 50-second teaser didn't give us any footage of the cast members together in one room, but it did give us a look at Harry Potter alumni Mark Williams, Robbie Coltrane, and Matthew Lewis receiving an invitation to return to Hogwarts. It also gave us a quick look at Emma Watson walking through Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. You can view the teaser here:
Fans are looking forward to seeing the reunion special as it is going to be the first time that we're going to see the original Harry Potter trio Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Watson reunite in the same room since Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 2011. As shown in the first look teaser, it looks like they are going all-in on the reunion special since it seems that they are also going to resurrect some of the sets in the films.
The retrospective special will be a telling of an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey throughout the Harry Potter film series. It will also celebrate its unparalleled legacy and its indelible impact on the hearts, minds, and imaginations of families and fans around the world.
Besides Radcliffe, Grint, Watson, Williams, Coltrane, and Lewis, the reunion special will also be joined by Harry Potter alumni such as director Chris Columbus, Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Evanna Lynch, Ian Hart, and many more. However, J.K. Rowling will not be involved.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will premiere on HBO Max this coming New Year's Day, January 1. It will also debut on TBS and Cartoon Network in spring 2022 ahead of the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
