It’s fair to say that Oppenheimer was the biggest winner of the 81st Golden Globes as the film pretty much swept the major categories.

Aside from being a big occasion for Nolan fans, the Golden Globes was also a landmark event for the anime industry. After all, two anime films were nominated in the Best Animated Feature category.

Moreover, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron took home the award. This is a big deal considering that this is the first time an anime film has won a Golden Globe.

It’s not too surprising that Heron won. After all, the film has gotten great reviews from critics and fans, not to mention that it has garnered accolades from prestigious film festivals across the world.

Even though it didn’t win, Suzume being nominated is still a big deal, not to mention that it’s another feather on director Makoto Shinkai’s cap.

It may not have taken home a Golden Globe, but Suzume had a special crossover that delighted fans.

Given the film’s nomination, Crunchyroll (which distributed the film in the US) covered the Golden Globes. During the event, Crunchyroll’s official Instagram shared an unexpected photo of Harrison Ford with Suzume’s chair.

It’s not clear how they managed to get Ford to hold it. There may be a chance that Ford is familiar with or has seen the movie, though it wasn’t mentioned in the post.

As expected, the post drew lots of reactions from anime fans, with some jokingly saying that Ford may not even know about the film or the context of the chair.

Still, it’s a fun crossover that proves how mainstream anime has become worldwide.

For those who haven’t seen Suzume yet, the film is now available to stream on Crunchyroll in the US and other select regions.
