Harrison Ford is a Grumpy Dog in New Trailer for The Secret Life of Pets 2

Besides anything involving minions, Illumination has the market down pat when it comes to adorable movies. This year will see the sequel to The Secret Life of Pets, and wouldn't you know it, Harrison Ford is playing a grumpy dog in the film.

We don't have a plot for the sequel yet, but we do know the story is still going to involve what animals do while the humans aren't around. After the whole scandal with Louie C.K., the film has opted to recast the character of Max with Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille), but Eric Stonestreet is still voicing Duke, and we get returning voices for Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Dana Carvey, and more.

Looking back at Harrison's Ford character, I think they really embraced his ‘natural charisma' for this film. Ford is quite known to be grumpy in public, and he plays it perfectly with this Rooster character. We don't know for how long he's going to be in the film, but I think there's a lot of potential for fun for him.

If you've liked the first Secret Life of Pets, it's likely you'll enjoy this one as well. Writer Brian Lynch has come back plus co-director Chris Renaud. Personally, I don't think Illumination has quite got the same emotional weight that Pixar and Disney animated films bring, but I guess they're still a lot of fun.

Catch The Secret Life of Pets 2 in theaters June 7.
