Harley Quinn Valentine's Day Special Taps Abbott Elementary Stars in Special Cameo Roles

This week, the hit HBO Max animated series Harley Quinn is set to release its Valentine's Day special titled Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special just in time for the celebration of the love month. It's also a treat for fans who are waiting for the release of the fourth season.

Now, it looks like the upcoming Valentine-themed episode is going to be extra special as Deadline has confirmed that Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams will have special voice cameo roles in Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special.

Brunson and Williams will be voicing Hawkgirl and Hawkman, respectively. Their characters are appearing to explain how they fell in love during the special. It is certainly a meta-casting since they play characters that are in a "will they, won't they" romantic situation in Abbott Elementary.

"As a Harley Quinn fan, I’m thrilled to lend my voice to the special and to team up with my Abbott Elementary creative partners, Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker and co-star Tyler James Williams for this fun episode," Brunson said in a statement.

Williams added, "Harley Quinn is such a brilliant series and it is an honor to lend my voice to this special. I think the cameo is something both Abbott Elementary and DC fans will enjoy."

This is a special treat and wink for fans of Abbott Elementary since we have witnessed Brunson's character Janine and Williams' character Gregory get entangled in a romantic situation in the hit sitcom and now it will translate to the animated series where they are officially a couple.

The synopsis reads: "As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry. Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love."

The cast also includes Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Matt Oberg, James Wolk, Natalie Morales, Chris Diamantopoulos, James Adomian, Jim Rash, Vanessa Marshall, Janet Varney, Rachel Dratch, Leila Birch, Josh Helman, Casey Wilson, and Michael Ironside.
