Hailee Steinfeld Taught Herself Archery To Play Kate Bishop, New Hawkeye Image Revealed

There is little doubt that Hailee Steinfeld will do a great job at playing Kate Bishop in Hawkeye. It's an awesome role for the Ender's Game actress and she made sure she would be able to play the character properly. That meant learning how to shoot with a bow and arrow on her own, just like the self-taught Kate.

Hailee Steinfeld's casting was exciting news for fans. After all, there have been several speculations that she will play Kate Bishop even before the casting was announced. Interestingly, the Bumblebee actress was already preparing for the role by learning archery on her own. Steinfeld confirmed that she did this to embody her character properly.

“My archery is now quite good,” she told Empire. “Kate is self-taught and it was important to me to take it on myself, to be there by the time we started shooting.” Check out the new image that will be featured in the magazine's upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home issue.

In the comics, Kate was so inspired by Clint Barton that she learned archery on her own. So it would make sense that the character was the inspiration for Steinfeld when she prepared for the role.

Hawkeye will introduce a huge opportunity for Kate as she teams up with Clint. According to Steinfeld, her character will jump into the chance to work with the Avenger.

“Kate wants to do good; she has this burning desire to follow in Hawkeye’s footsteps,” she said of Kate. “She’s idolised this person forever and then she finds herself on this wild ride with him.”

We're loving this update about Kate and we can't wait to see her in action this November.

Hawkeye will also star Jeremy Renner as the titular hero. New cast members include Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, and Alaqua Cox. Black Widow star Florence Pugh has also been confirmed to reprise her role as Yelena Belova in the series.

The new MCU show will premiere on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
